Painted Turtle
Chrysemys picta
Most widespread native turtle in North America. Semi-aquatic omnivore — slightly more carnivorous than sliders, especially as juveniles (up to 60% protein). Adults still need substantial plant matter. Brumates underwater in outdoor ponds in winter.
